- In 2024, towards the end of January, I took a trip to New York to see the New York Philharmonic perform Bernard Herrmann’s score to the film Vertigo live with the film. That being a one-night plan led me to have lots of free time throughout the rest of the week to walk around and wander the streets of the city and take in as much as I could. I found this experience to be incredibly inspiring to the muse, and this is my first piece back from that trip. The piece, heavily inspired by New York traffic, is an overture that is meant to depict some sort of wild taxi ride of sorts, that takes the listener through all sorts of avenues, and back alleys, until finally returning to the streets that it started on to reach its final destination.
