- Program Notes
- Soft, elusive, harp-like sounds of the piano are combined with long-held clarinet notes that fade in and out. Not really a melody but a constantly shifting color change with little accents. The music reacts to the poem “September II” by Eva Strittmatter: she talks about nostalgia, about the slowly approaching end and subtle scents in the air. There is an underlying chord structure for each movement thats holds the music formally together.
