What we say gets stored to live in some other memory, what an inscription may fail to describe. “What does it cost to buy a gateway to another landmark?” we asked the tour guide. “Two dimes, and I return a penny.” To go on a tale we tell by footsteps, we paid the dimes and went through gateways to these adventure sites: 1. The island of decommissioned roller coasters, conversations of jars, the recitation of silences we call thoughts. 2. What boundless flowers - the orbiting city is filled with them, starlights for the sky in the stars and the wayside bolt of emerald. 3. I ride on nothing but your electric rails and you cry like a sea's skin when the forest is full of shaken vines in front of extinctions and dreaded torpid acrobats. 4. The demonic lighthouses and rodent schools at last give forth their fragmented cubicles. Not the green moment when the afternoon lights the wind on fire. 5. Twas the bioluminescence of the shore waves that warmed the cold sunrise. Fewer and fewer throttle about another mode of wonder. 6. Where wine bottles meet, snow rises among and next to the sound of cadavers, to reach out and play in panic. Rise to its old warrior's medal and among the colonies of the sun, rises the angelic one. 7. That driveshaft is covered with stationary praise. Neither magicians, clowns nor dull shades of translucent cinnamon could reach the silvery but opaque architecture. 8. Everything melancholy with silent voices, the stinging salt of the echo and piles of poetic bread amid docking ships. The wounded flag that dawns in a tourist’s hands.
