- Luminous Sky is a lyrical ballad depicting the warmth and serenity of a colorful sunset. The music features an almost constant arpeggiated ostinato, providing motion to the simple and expressive melodic fragments. The piece was written for the Incendio Trio as part of their performance at the 2022 Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic. The trio spent the previous year working on my chaotic and brash work Liquid Metal, so I thought this more lyrical style would be a nice change of pace for the ensemble!
