"Némesis by composer C. M. Champi is based on the ancient Orphic hymn to Nemesis, the divine incarnation of just retribution. “I call upon you, oh Nemesis, goddess, august sovereign [...] All mortals fear to the just yoke that you make weigh on his neck. (....) Come, oh blessed one, and always be favorable to those who celebrate your mysteries! Give strength to the power of reason, and drive away hateful, unjust and arrogant thoughts .” The piece is written as a chase that intensifies more and more. It is a labyrinth, a whirlpool of sound in which spectators and performers are trapped. Starting from a strong concern for the current state of justice in Mexico, the composer invokes "assiduously harness the power of Nemesis to tear down the structures that facilitate violence and impunity."
