- Program Notes
- Drill-FR21 (2021), for ensemble of 5 instruments, was composed as part of the ReMusik Festival of St. Petersburg, Russia. The piece was performed by the Ensemble of Contemporary Music of Moscow in the Alexandrinsky Hall. The creative process starts from a series of recordings with people who showed psychological problems and made sonorous manifestations in the streets of Paris. The material is structured in its essential form and organized in a concertante form. The instrumental practice is based on the use of the voice to produce concrete sonorities, supported by a bodily device that sometimes refers to dance. During the process, resources coming from Drill's music in the suburbs of the French capital were used. In this way the work intends to return to the ritual phenomenon by making a primary appeal to the body and to other formes of listening.
