- Program Notes
- A calm melody emerges from the silence, somewhat reminiscent of a dodecaphonic series, but with a tonal coloration, as if built from scraps of traditional phrases sewn together with a measured, quarter-note rhythm. The title ("as if indifferent") was created after the composition of the piece, but if I had to explain it, I think that it reflects the play of emotional tensions throughout the form - from under the seemingly monotonous, repeated over and over again, the previously suppressed melody comes to the fore feelings.
