Endeavour

Endeavour (2023, revised 2024) takes the listener on a brief but exciting musical journey within the instrumental context of two violins and two viole. A simple, fast motif appears in all four instrumental lines throughout the work, with energetic development sections and sometimes-unexpected modulations adding to the work’s intense and lively character. The work is dedicated to my friend Cameron Monteath, who plays the viola and is a composer himself.
