“Snap Two” was written as a response to “Snap,” a movement from my “Show of Hands” for solo piano. It is marked “Breathlessly; Precise” and is rather unrelenting and tense, even in the comparatively spare passage that builds to the climactic closing section. The texture is built from a repeated note pattern of varying length that is traded between both pianos and which is interrupted by more directed, linear material that is also exchanged. Enjoy the taut, uneven groove.
