This piece was inspired by a quotation of the Romanian sculptor Constantin Brancusi appearing in the subtitle. Brancusi’s sculptural style with modern and minimalistic impressions were also a source of inspiration for me. On the other hand, I did not seek a minimalistic expression but aspire to render Brancusi’s from my personal perpective. In general outline, the piece consists of an extended diminuendo and a crescendo respectively. As Iannis Xenakis puts it, the crescendo and diminuendo is not a simple term of dynamic, it is valid on increasings and decreasings in any parameter. Here, beside the prelude and postlude of the piece, we perceive a diminuendo and crescendo in the intensity of instrumental build-up. The piece is contructed with transitive sections that are connected to each other by “injections”through gradual transitions of various parameters.
