- In the summer of 2016 I got my most funny comission for a composition. Pianista Juan Barahona contacted me requesting 3 tailor-made arrangements for BTU Nightflight, a promotional event of an important Austrian travel agency.
In this event he would give a concert with his partner, violinist Maria Florea and guest musicians. Both are great performers raised in the Escuela Superior de Música Reina SofÃa in Madrid.
I should write 3 arrangements putting in contact classical and popular pieces of music, in a manner that would both attractive and amusing for the party guests. The show would include light effects and dancers.
In the third of those pieces I should turn Piazzolla's 'Libertango' into Schiffrin's theme for 'Mission: Impossible". This is the result.
The event organizers were in charge of the recording, lightning and dance, and the players were terrific.
The arrangements are made with much love and respect to the original materials.
The other two are
"Summer Thriller": from Vivaldi's "Summer" to Michael Jackson's "Thriller"
"Schumanns Kuss": from Schumann's Piano Concerto de Piano to "Bésame mucho"
