Mustafa Eren Arın is a composer/academician whose works have been played at some of the major concerts and festivals in Turkey. His music proceeds from the free improvisational style in Turkish Makam Music which is called "Taksim"; and aims to explore the possibilities of time and space organisation in contemporary music by using the "Taksim" as a generative source for the compositional thought. Arın had studied composition with Michael Ellison(U.S.A), Kamran Ince(U.S.A) and Toivo Tulev(Estonia) and holds a Phd. in Musicology/Music Theory from Istanbul Technical University in Turkey.
