Variações seresteiras

Variações seresteiras is a piece for wind quintet composed in 2015. The work features five variations with diverse textures and moods.

The theme is a reminiscence of the serestas that played on the composer’s grandfather’s record player in the small town of Iúna, in the Caparaó region of Espírito Santo. These sounds marked his childhood and form part of his musical and emotional memory.
