Ikaros was composed in Autumn 2004 and dedicated to Frank Cox.
The piece got its name from Greek mythology where Ikaros (the son of Daidalos) flew too close to the sun and died.
The tragedy of Ikaros touched me.
With the wings he was given by his father, he was offered the possibility to achieve something impossible those days. Unfortunatly, he went too far. He did not understand and lost the opportunity he was given, and so he died.
