- "Cari Lumi Che Pietosi” is a meditation on Orazio Michi dell’Arpa’s song "Cari lumi che pietosi”. The original appears towards the end of the piece, reimagined in the style of Sweelinck, as if the material had wandered into a 17th-century keyboard fantasia. The composition received the Second Prize at the “Concorso Internazionale di Composizione Orazio Michi dell’Arpa" in Italy in December 2025. I would like to thank Alessandra Marangon for her valuable help in locating the poem by Balducci, which served as the lyrics for the original song.
