Arda & Canfeza

Ａｒｄａ & Ｃａｎｆｅｚâ  merges the improvisational recordings of Istanbul based musicians —qanun player Arda Turcan and kemenche player Elif Canfezâ Gündüz— with a live performance by the UT New Music Ensemble.

Two distinct sound-blends emerge: qanun and harp, and kemenche and strings—pairs of instruments from different cultures, similar in register and family, yet contrasting in timbre.

Within the crossfade of purely acoustic and electronically processed realms, the audience experiences the co-presence of musicians across mediums, locations, and times.
