- Program Notes
- This work belongs to a series of 3 quintets based on a short story by Julio Cortázar called Axolotl, from which the idea of metamorphosis is taken, an idea on which the name Transmutation is based. Throughout the three quintets, a sound metamorphosis is proposed between one and the other, Transmutación being the last stage, where the materials and sonorities that compose it present a marked evolution in terms of texture and timbre in relation to the two previous pieces. This idea, in addition to giving structure to the series of three works, is also the axis of development that this piece presents within itself.
