- Third World Fable is the first piece of my collection of piano trios inspired by the music of my native land. The piece deconstructs the theme - a melody from Bukhara maqam, which appears at the very end of the piece in a form of re-quote from the piano composition of my first composition teacher. Spiritually I was driven by the feeling of detachment and separation from a culture I used to be a part of: as for any immigrant, moving to a polarly different part of the world, I had to through personal and cultural metamorphosis, which, I believe I showed in this music.
