- Program Notes
- Sleep-n-Play is a musical illustration of parental attempts of putting a little child to sleep. The lullaby turns into an imitation game, until a parent gives up and so does the baby. The choice of instrumentation reflects parent-child relationship: piano/toy piano, vibraphone/glockenspiel, a big shaker/a small toy shaker, and so on. When composing this piece I used the actual toys borrowed from my 1-year old son, which I then sent to icarus Quartet for the recording, with my his yet non-verbal permission.
