- Delirium (2008) for flute, piano and violoncello. Duration 8’ 30 minutes Delirium was completed in December 2008 and is written for the Trio IAMA. Lucking thematic or motivic development the work is based on sound transformation strategies and relations of proximity between sound colors replacing relations among notes or intervals. The notion of thematic idea seeks solutions in abstract sound structures with characteristic atmosphere, movement and articulation. The sonic gestures in Delirium could be related to the technique Impasto in painting where the paintbrush stretches out a thick layer from combination of colors creating a sense of depth on the canvas. The sound color textures create their own dimension in the time and recall memories and moods. With Dionysian character, primitive atmosphere and improvisational energy the whole ensemble behaves as a single complex body which is coordinated from the score so that it reveals musical expression. The instruments eschew from their ‘traditional’ sound through the use of extensions and their alternative ways of excitation. This piece awarded the First Prize at the Vth Edition Musici Mojanesi International Composition Competition in Treviso, Italy; published by Ars Publica Musical Editions, and released on CD titled PRESENT PERFECT vol.1 by Ensemble Trio IAMA and Dissonance Records.
