- Program Notes
- Originally wanting to write an a cappella piece in the vein of Eric Whitacre, this solo piano arrangement won out. Looking to build up my solo piano works in the near future. 11/15/24 - As I got this piece under my fingers, I've updated the score to better reflect how I play it. I also changed some of the harmonies. It is definitely a personal take on the traditional hymn and would probably be better suited for a more intimate performance setting. Players are encouraged to take their time with each phrase. Just as the act of listening becomes prominent when trying to be still and calm, so to should the performer listen to the rich harmonies being created here. If you would like a copy of this score, you can reach me at cmbrandon@wtamu.edu. Or you can support my work by purchasing it from the link provided. Cheers!
