- Program Notes
- The title is taken from a newspaper article which satirized the Canadian prime minister for using the backdrop of a massive forest fire to kickstart his re-election campaign. Recorded speech rhythms from politicians and journalists are captured as brossage effects in the electronic part, and sometimes reflected in the trumpet part as melodic transcription. The music alternates between two scales drawn from 38 pitches per double-octave.
