- "When I started writing the piece, I had a terrible dream about a glowing gas that put everyone in an agitated state. People felt happy and light. In the dream, I experienced this intoxicating state, was fooled around, and was in good spirits. Gradually, a feeling of a secret known only to me arose: the gas was a means of enslaving people's consciousness, driving them crazy. In the next part of the dream, I tried to tell the secret to my friends, to no avail; everyone was under the influence of the gas. The dream's ending was dramatic: people began to attack each other.
When I woke up, I began looking for information related to what I had seen. I came across the 1946 film "Gaslight", which could have become the exact title of the play - the alluring glowing gas was in the dream.
