- āField of Dreamsā for SATB Chorus was written for Jo-Anne van der Vat-Chromy and The Madison Singers after we met during my composer residency at the James Madison University Contemporary Music Festival in 2022. Jo-Anne and I deeply connected in a shared vision about musicās ability to empower and heal. Her poem āField of Dreamsā so profoundly captures this shared belief. Being able to set these words to music was a wonderful gift. āField of Dreamsā was commissioned by James Madison University with the generous support of the JMU 2021-2022 Shirley Hanson Roberts ā56 and Richard D. Roberts Endowment for Faculty Excellence to Dr. Jo-Anne van der Vat-Chromy and The Madison Singers.
