This piece explores the uncountable gender identities coined in the 2010’s by an online movement known as Marginalized Orientations, Gender Alignments, and Intersex (MOGAI), who sought to bring validation to transgender individuals by creating labels that describe an incredibly wide range of gender expressions. Many of these genders exist in concept only, and do not have anyone actively identifying with the gender. I found the esoteric nature of neogenders (genders that were coined recently) to be very intriguing and worthy of documentation. This piece attempts to represent these genders musically; however, without anyone identifying as these genders, the representation is merely speculation.
