Program Notes: This piece speaks of an individual who reflects on his or her life before it is completed. He or she feels a moment of glooming regret: that his or her journey towards the end could have played out differently; if only things were somehow better... This is my first Virtuosic Viola Sonata-Allegro; a contemporary New-Age piece set to g-Phrygian minor, transforming itself into various keys as c-Dorian minor, c#-Locrian and F#-Myxolydian Major. Around this time (2023-2024), I have taken interest in exploring and developing harmonic progressions revolving around lesser-used major and minor modes. This musical style, as well as the Viola instrument itself, are some of my main musical passions, as I endeavor to represent those that are under-appreciated.
