- In a word, this work is "tacky". It's a piece dedicated to showcasing tackiness, with every ounce of my being. It's utterly, thoroughly tacky. Even this pamphlet is tacky. Commonplace expressions, typical chord progressions, meaningless sentimentality, flashy yet hollow techniques... Each one of them embodies a level of tackiness that could only be met with outright performance refusal. I truly can't express enough gratitude for the kindness of the performers!! Throughout the entire piece, we've used a certain standard"Just the two of us" chord progression and structured it in what's called a "J-POP format". Within this extremely stereotypical framework, I've twisted in every tacky thing imaginable!!!
