Program Notes: I believe this was my second 'commission' (so to speak). The summer of 1996 found me working at a camp in Ridgecrest, NC. One of the friends I had made there had a friend who wrote poetry. I offered to set some of the poems to music and, after they were mailed to me, this was the only poem I completed.
