- “Fragment from Op.6“ was written for Amorsima Trio and is part of the set of 21 “reaction” miniatures commemorating Beethoven’s 250th anniversary. Beethoven’s posthumously discovered letter, the famous “Heiligenstadt Testament,” vaguely serves as a biographical reflection that infuses a tender yet fatalistic character to the work. The musical material stems from reworking a short passage from my Op.6 for violin and piano, itself a quotation from Beethoven’s fourth movement of Hammerklavier, Op.106.
