- Program Notes
- The pianist decides on the route that begins at the top cell of the diagram, moves through the vast majority of cells, and ends back at the beginning cell.
The pianist will choose to draw a line that goes in accordance with path of cell choice through diagram and copy it to the other performers if they are any.
In a solo piano performance, they will play the notes (pitch(s)) and harmonies (chord(s)) according to their own personal preferences and style. In the case that accompanists are used, they will play only the harmonies (chord(s)) parts. The pianist will provide the accompanists suggestions on the style, mood, and duration of each cell.
*All the cells are written in Concert C.
- Recording Notes
- The basic concept of composition was based on the geometry and implications in Sefirot which allowed me to arrive to my pitch and harmony selections, but I had to add new cells and meaning that aren't part of the Kabbalah practice, just to fit the pitch sections. Even though the composition may appear to be an improvisational aleatory score, all of the transitions should serve as functional harmony cadences. It's something I've been working on recently to combine a modern performance with familiar melodies that are somehow familiar to the majority of music audiences away from a random chromaticism.
