- Program Notes
- Svartifoss was written for and premiered by the Score Collective Ensemble in Amsterdam in the spring of 2016. The title of the piece, Svartifoss (english: Black Fall), derives from a waterfall located in Skaftafell in Vatnajökull National Park in Iceland. The waterfall is one of the most popular sights in the park, surrounded by dark lava columns, which give rise to its name. The music depicts different scenes inspired by the waterfall and it’s surroundings.
