Michael Burke is a composer, arranger, and church musician whose work centers on sacred choral and liturgical music. He serves as Director of Music for the Latin Mass at Our Lady of the Valley Parish in Easthampton, Massachusetts, and as organist and cantor at Sacred Heart Parish. A graduate of Westfield State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education, Burke has devoted his career to writing music that supports the prayer of the Church and serves parish and cathedral choirs.
His compositions include Mass settings, motets, hymn arrangements, and seasonal liturgical works, notably the Mass of Our Lady, Queen of the Valley, written for the Latin Mass choir at Our Lady of the Valley Parish. Burke’s music reflects a respect for the traditions of Gregorian chant and classical sacred repertoire, combined with practical, singable writing for volunteer choirs and congregations.
Burke is a member of the American Guild of Organists and the National Association of Pastoral Musicians. He regularly performs in parishes and cathedrals throughout the Diocese of Springfield, Massachusetts, and surrounding regions, and continues to compose works intended to deepen the prayer and musical life of the Church.
