Dafina Zeqiri Nushi (1984) is an award-winning composer. Notably, she was recognized at the Competition of Young Composers Çesk Zadeja (2002, 2003, 2005), PRE ART 2008 (Switzerland), Theodore Front Prize (USA), Chopin Fest 2012 (Kosovo), Composer’s Voice 2012 competition by Vox Novus (New York, USA), to name but a few. She was a finalist of the international competition at the Women Composers Festival of Hartford, in Connecticut (USA), attended the blurred edges contemporary music festival in Hamburg (Germany), Gaudeamus Musicweek (Netherlands), Vox Feminae Festival in Israel, Aldgete Square Festival in London (UK), Connect Festival in Malmo (Sweden), Emil Cossetto Festival in Zagreb (Croatia) and many other festival events. Other than in native Kosovo, her works have been performed in England, New York, Germany, Austria, Italy, Mexico, Denmark, Netherlands, Israel, Turkey, Hungary, Switzerland, Sweden, Bulgaria, Croatia, Albania, and North Macedonia. She holds a PhD in Composition from the Department of Music at the New Bulgarian University in Sofia, Bulgaria. She works as a teacher at the University of Pristina, is a member of NGO Neo Musica, NGO International Alliance for Women in Music (IAWM/USA), and a member of the Kosovo Society of Composers.
