Written in collaboration with and dedicated to my good friend, harpist Ivy Askew, and choreographed by dancer Lauren McConnell as part of a collaborative project between the Royal Northern College of Music and the Northern Ballet School, this short piece for harp takes its name from the two components ('lassú', meaning 'slow', and 'friska', meaning 'fast') of the czardás, a Hungarian dance form, and explores the dichotomy between a slow, harmonically--rich flowing section, and a quick, angular, rhythmic passage.
