Chloe Grove is a British composer and amateur pianist and vocalist who specialises in modern classical music.
Born in Southend-on-Sea in Essex, Grove grew up surrounded by a countless number of musical styles, such as rock, metal and 1980s pop, which helped her form a deep, lifelong appreciation for a wide variety of genres. She began piano lessons at the age of 7, achieving merits and distinctions in performance and theory exams, and allowing her to form a strong and fundamental understanding of piano technique. She also partook in a multitude of musical events, including assisting with open evenings at her schools’ music departments, and performing as a pianist and vocalist both at-home and abroad on music tours, being able to work with high-profile groups such as the London Community Gospel Choir.
Grove was self-taught as a composer from the ages of 14 to 21, with a generous output of original works and arrangements of video game and metal music for piano, flute and strings as of 2024. Pieces such as her Fantasia Minore, concert études and piano sonatas have garnered positive reviews from online music communities, allowing her to amass a strong following of hundreds across platforms such as Youtube. Her style combines substantial rhythmic drive and modernistic harmonies with inventive approaches to form and development, giving rise to a distinctive and personal sound.
Grove has been an ardent advocate for the music of lesser-known composers for much of her musical life, and hopes to set up a concert series of their works as well as those of her contemporaries and colleagues.
