Chang Pan（常磐） is a music project founded in 2025 by Chinese keyboardist and composer Isaac Xu. Changpan means timelessness, and also refers to the color of evergreen trees—a shade of green that persists through the changing seasons.

In this project, instruments, synthesizers, and recordings serve as the primary materials, with the work spanning electronic music, jazz vocabulary, and contemporary music. Each track draws inspiration from a specific concept, focusing on sounds imbued with a “green” quality—sounds that are slow, growing, sustained, and possess a natural, breathing quality. These sounds are collaged, fused, and arranged to ultimately produce something fresh.
