Turbulence

‘Turbulence’ follows the story of a flight, which starts off peacefully and calmly, but quickly gets hit by a storm, which the second movement ‘Ferociously’ depicts. The sextuplets of the timpani depicts the storm while the winds and brasses display the confusion of the pilot and passengers on board. After the storm settles, the final movement of the piece takes on themes from the first movement in a grand format, where the triumphant feeling of crew and passengers on board is on full display.
