Bryan Lastrella is a queer composer based in the Denver-metro area whose music aims to foster diversity & joy through community collaboration. His compositions range from interactive electronic installations to concert pieces for both orchestra and choir as he stretches the limits of what he is capable of through experimentation. Aside from composing music, Bryan also sings with Denver’s premier choral group — Kantorei. He graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver with a Bachelor of Music in Composition & a Bachelor of Arts in Music Theory.

While studying at MSU Denver, he worked on a number of collaborative projects with MSU DanceWorks to score various dance performances. His orchestral composition, “Grow & Blossom,” won the 2022 MSU Denver Composition Competition and his interactive sonic installation, “I Am Who I Am Because of You,” has been shown at MSU Denver in 2022, the Holiday Theater for the Open Minds, Open Doors event presented by the Museum of Contemporary Art & MSU DanceWorks in 2023, as well as at Boettcher Concert Hall in 2023 for the MSU Denver Side by Side with the Colorado Symphony Public Benefit Concert.
