The "Basel Composition Competition" is aimed at composers of all ages from all over the world who compose new works and bring them to Basel for their world premiere. During three competition concerts and a final concert, which will take place in April 2027, three to four works will be honored and rewarded with prize money.

(The BCC will consider new orchestral works which have never previously been performed (in whole or in part) and have never won an award. The work may already have been published, but it must be ensured that the BCC holds the performance and recording rights.)

Prize:
The laureate composers shall receive the following awards:
First Prize: CHF 60,000
Second Prize: CHF 25,000
Third Prize: CHF 10,000

The Jury is entitled to withhold any or all the prizes.

Audience prize: CHF 5,000 (awarded by the audience at the Final)

Eligibility:
The Competition is open to all living composers, with no limitation as to age or nationality, with the exception of previous BCC award-winners.
