The Lake George Music Festival is accepting applications starting Sept. 1 for new works for their 2027 summer season at Lake George, New York. Composers of any age and nationality are eligible, including students currently enrolled in degree programs. One or two winning composers will have their works performed live by exceptional musicians of the Lake George Music Festival. Selected composers will also be invited to Lake George to work with the performers. Runners up will be announced: Applications will be accepted September 1–November 1, 2026 at 11:59 PM EST. Works must be original chamber music composed within the past five years, no more than 25 minutes long, and scored for 3–8 players using the Festival’s specified instrumentation. Acoustic works only; no amplification or electronics. Winning composers receive a $250 travel stipend, lodging, and some meals to facilitate attendance at the Festival. Attendance is encouraged but not required.
