The prize is $1000 USD and World Premiere at the 2028 Triennial Conference of Delta Omicron International Music Fraternity. This competition is open to all composers 18 or older, regardless of any music fraternity affiliation. To be eligible, the composition shall NOT have been previously commissioned, published or publicly performed prior to the time that judging is completed in the summer of 2027.

RULES
ELIGIBILITY: This competition is open to all composers 18 or older. This is regardless of any music fraternity affiliation.
To be eligible, the composition shall NOT have been previously commissioned, published or publicly performed (except for
feedback) prior to the time that judging is completed in the summer of 2027. To be eligible for the award, the winner of the
competition must wait to publish her/his work until after the première performance in July 2028.

MUSIC REQUIREMENTS: The composition should be for standard Violin, either solo or with Piano accompaniment.
The duration should be from seven to fifteen minutes.
Manuscripts should be in .pdf format, either notated with digital software (Dorico, Sibelius, etc.) or LEGIBLY written in ink and scanned. The score should be signed with a pseudonym (not the author's actual name) and free from any marks that would identify the composer to the judges. The body of the email should clearly list the entrant’s pseudonym, actual name, mailing address, email address and preferred phone number. This is only for the use of the Competition Chair and will not be shared with the judges.

“Submission to Delta Omicron 2028 Triennial Competition.” Hard copy manuscripts will not be accepted.

ENTRY FEES: Composers may submit multiple works for consideration, but an entry fee of $25.00 (US$) should accompany each submitted score paid via PayPal (or credit card) to Delta Omicron International Fraternity. You may use the Donate tab at www.delta-omicron.org and indicate “TCC fee” as a special instruction; this will not be interpreted as
a donation. A given submission will not be considered complete until this fee has been received. Note: once a score has been submitted, there will be no refund of the entry fee if the entrant chooses to withdraw from the competition.
ALL ENTRIES AND FEES MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN 11:59 PM on JULY 1, 2027.

AWARDS: The awards shall be $1,000 and the Première Performance at the Delta Omicron International MusicFraternity’s 2028 Triennial Conference (location to be determined). The composer is encouraged, though not required, toattend the Première Performance. All expenses to the Conference are the responsibility of the composer.
All of the above rules must be followed for a submission to be considered complete; the Competition Chair will alert you to any needed corrections. The decision of the judges will be FINAL. The prize will be withheld if, in the opinion of the judges, none of the compositions submitted is of a caliber warranting an award.
