34th Corciano International Competition for Original Wind Band Composition – 2027 Edition

The competition is organized in Corciano (Perugia, Umbria, Italy) by the Pro Loco Corcianese, in collaboration with the Municipality of Corciano and with the support of the Umbria Region, in partnership with the Flicorno d'Oro International Wind Band Competition in Riva del Garda.

Awards:

Category A (Large Wind Orchestra)
1st Prize: €4,000
The winning composition will become the required test piece for one category of the 2028 Flicorno d'Oro International Wind Band Competition.
Performance of the winning work within an international concert network between August 2027 and July 2028.
Opportunity to sign a publishing contract with Edizioni Scomegna (provided the work is not already under contract with another publisher).
2nd Prize: €1,000.

Category B (Reduced Instrumentation)
1st Prize: €1,000
Performance of the winning work within an international concert network.
Opportunity to sign a publishing contract with Edizioni Scomegna.

Eligibility
Open to composers of all nationalities.
Each composer may submit one composition per category.
Submitted works must be:
- original;
- unpublished;
- never performed;
- never awarded or recognized in any other competition.

Competition Categories
Category A
Duration: 15–20 minutes
Difficulty level: Grade 6
For large wind orchestra.
Soloists, choirs, and electronic/audio support are not permitted.

Category B
Duration: 6–10 minutes
Difficulty level: Grade 3
For reduced wind band instrumentation.
Solo instruments and solo voice are permitted.
Choirs and electronic/audio support are not permitted.

Entry Fee
€80 for each composition submitted.
