Ensemble Tempus Konnex is looking for innovative contemporary music works. Apply now for TEMPUS LAB 2026! Open to composers of all ages and nationalities. Applicants should submit works written for up to 7 instruments: Flute, Clarinet, Piano, and String Quartet (Violin I, Violin II, Viola, Cello). We accept various instrumentation combinations, ranging from solos, duos, and trios up to the full septet. All works must be acoustic and may be up to 12 minute in length. Previously performed, recorded, or published works are eligible, provided they meet the instrumentation and duration requirements. Application fee is 25€.

15 works will be selected for premiere in Leipzig, Germany, at the Grieg-Begegnungsstätte and the Alte Nikolaischule, from November 26 to 28, 2026. Composers will also take part in round table discussions with jury members and fellow participants. Composers will be invited to attend the rehearsals in Leipzig to work directly with the ensemble. Additionally, their works and profiles will be featured in the project’s promotional materials and across Ensemble Tempus Konnex’s official digital platforms for international exposure.

No cash prize, grant, or scholarship is directly awarded. However, the selected composers will be provided with high-quality performance opportunities by a professional ensemble, including live audio recording and international promotion.

Recording Rights

For the Composer: The selected composers will retain full copyright of their underlying musical works. They will be granted the right to use the archival audio/video recording of their piece for non-commercial personal promotion, portfolio, and website use.

For the Organization: Ensemble Tempus Konnex retains the right to use the recorded audio and video materials for non-commercial documentation, archiving, and promotional purposes, including sharing on the ensemble’s official website, YouTube, and SoundCloud channels.
