"Eurochestries International Composition Competition for Young Symphony Orchestra"
While this is the first edition of the composition competition itself, Eurochestries has been organising international youth orchestra festivals and cultural exchanges for many years, bringing together young musicians from different countries through concerts, artistic projects, and collaborations.
The theme is: “Water in All Its Forms”
The competition is open to nationals of all countries.
It aims to enrich the repertoire for symphony orchestra, particularly for youth ensembles, while discovering new talent and fostering exchanges with experienced composers. It also seeks to draw attention to the importance of water as a vital and universal resource.
There are two categories: one for candidates under 30 years old (born after March 31, 1997), with works lasting 6 to 8 minutes, and one for candidates over 30 years old (born before March 31, 1997), with works lasting 8 to 10 minutes.
The selection process will take place in three rounds. The first round requires a sketch of the score (with audio); the second round, a complete score (with audio); And in the final round, the selected scores will be performed by a European youth symphony orchestra.
The total prize money is €20,500: 7 prizes awarded: three prizes in each category (€5,000, €3,000, and €2,000). An additional €500 Audience Choice Award ("Coup de cœur"), common to both categories, will also be given.
The entry fee is €50.
Applications must be submitted before midnight (CET) on August 31, 2026.
