- My grandmother's family is from Ukraine. When she passed away, I inherited her book of 201 Ukrainian Folk Songs. I took three songs, "She Lives On, Our Ukrainia" (National Anthem), "Between Two Mountains, A Star Rose". and "It's Freezing and Snowing" and composed this work. I originally wrote it in 2007, but lost my copy when we moved. I rewrote this version in 2023.
