Create a score video in scorefol.io, and set the "YouTube Agreement" checkbox to CHECKED.
In an effort to help promote living composers, we will be uploading works created by scorefol.io users to our YouTube channel, Score Follower, as well as excerpts of the work on instagram stories (and possibly reels collaborative posts). For practical reasons, not all works will be chosen; however, the lower bar of entry compared to our Follow My Score call, and the potentially quick turn-around will make scorefol.io highlights an attractive way for many living composers to get their music on our socials.
General guidelines that we will be looking for:
Works involving samples of licensed music will not be selected.
We will only upload original works. No transcriptions, arrangements, orchestrations, etc.
Published works, and recordings on labels will not be selected, unless scorefol.io happens to have an ongoing relationship with those publishers/labels.
Your work must be set to “public” on scorefol.io. If it is set to “private,” we will assume that you no longer wish to have your music featured.
The recording quality will play a significant role in the work's selection.
Works relying on MIDI recordings will not be selected unless A: The MIDI is an obvious aesthetic feature or B: The MIDI rendition is fantastic, utilizing modern VSTs and/or samples.
Works that are cropped to the system, similar to our regular YouTube uploads, will be preferred.
Title pages, performance notes, and other preliminary materials should be moved to the "Notes" tab, and they should not have timestamps assigned in the video. We prefer to display preliminary notes at the end of the video since that increases engagement.
We kindly request not to contact us directly to solicit or suggest works for "scorefol.io highlights" consideration. Our team curates a diverse program that reflects our slogan: "the score video resource for the beautifully gnarly sounds of today." We're not trying to objectively select the best works, but rather create a program that we think our audience will enjoy, in the same way you might put together a concert series, balancing out different ensemble sizes and configurations, aesthetics, other works in our YouTube queue etc. We appreciate your understanding and encourage all composers to continue sharing their works on scorefol.io.
By consenting to our YouTube agreement, you, the composer and copyright holder, are giving us, scorefol.io, permission to upload and host your work onto our YouTube channel. Composers should have explicit consent from performers before agreeing to this. Scorefol.io reserves the right to take down any video, at any time, if we conclude that not all permissions have been secured.
